Victor Osimhen to Saudi Pro League inches closer as transfer deadline approaches
Super Eagles striker and reigning African Footballer of the Year Victor Osimhen is on the brink of a transfer to the Saudi Pro League as the summer transfer window deadline looms, National Daily Newspaper gathered.
Osimhen, who secured 8th place in the 2023 Ballon d’Or rankings, has drawn interest from several European giants, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.
However, recent reports suggest that only Chelsea might match the significant financial offer from Al Ahli.
Napoli extended Osimhen’s contract in December 2023 until the summer of 2026, with a substantial buyout clause set at approximately $103 million.
His current weekly wage is £250,000.

Sky Sports News reported on Friday morning that Napoli and Al Ahli have agreed on a transfer fee of around £65 million for Osimhen.
Meanwhile, Chelsea officials are in Naples attempting to negotiate a loan deal with an option to buy, though Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, is reportedly opposed to this arrangement.
Adding to the complexity, Brentford striker Ivan Toney has accepted an offer from Al Ahli after his club and the Saudi Pro League team reached an agreement exceeding £40 million, intensifying the uncertainty surrounding Osimhen’s move.
