Why Buhari may not seek re-election in 2019 – Adesina
The Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina at the weekend lists some reasons why Buhari may decide not to seek re-election in 2019.
According to Adesina, the President would have to assess his health before plunging into the Presidential race in 2019. “Once he assesses that his health can carry it, there’s nothing wrong if he steps into the fray. But he has the final decision”, Adesina reportedly said.

While Nigerians are waiting to see if and when President Buhari would declare re-election bid, Adesina rebutted claims that the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi had been appointed the Director-General of the president’s campaigns for 2019 election.
“I believe that things like the DG will come when you have become a candidate. If the President steps into the fray now, he is an aspirant just like any other aspirant. Having a DG comes when you become a candidate of the party,” said Adesina.
