Popular Nigerian broadcaster and multiple awards winning journalist, Babajide Otitoju has claimed that Rev Father Ejike Mbaka always find himself in trouble because of the political statements he often makes at the parish he overseas.
Babajide was reacting over the suspension of Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia by the Catholic Diocese of Gboko, for expressing interest to contest the governorship election in the state.
Speaking during Monday’s edition of journalists hangout, Babajide Otitoju said mixing politics with religion is not something that people would want to see and that is why father Mbaka often finds himself in trouble.
“Mixing politics with religion is not something that people would want to see. That is why Reverend Father Mbaka always run into trouble even the catholic church have also warned him that they don’t want him to be making political statements. But he still spoke some days back when he told the governor of Enugu state not to allow cultists to succeed him. Father Mbaka can not simply leave politics alone. There was a time he predicted that Buhari would win the election and he was close to some people in the All Progressive Congress party.” Babajide said.
