NCC gets new board, Executive Commissioner
President Muhammadu Buhari has finally sent the names of nominees into the board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to the Senate for confirmation.
According to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Fashina, the request was contained in a letter sent to the President of the Senate, Abunakar Bukola Saraki on Tuesday.
In the list, Olabiyi Durojaiye, a former Senator from the South West was nominated as Chairman. The new chairman was elected as a Senator under the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 1999. He also uses the tribal title Otunba a pre-nominal style, thereby highlighting his position as a chieftain of the Yoruba people.

Durojaiye earned a BSc (Economics) London, and an LLB, London. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1979, and is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He also graduated from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.
Other nominees for Nigerian Communications Commission’s board include Mr. Sunday Dare from the South West as Executive Commissioner, Stakeholders Management. while Aliyu Sa’idu Abubakar (North East), Clement Omeiza Baiye (North Central), Chief Okoi Ofem Obono Obla (South South), Pastor Ezekiel Yissa (North Central) and Sen Ifeanyi Ararume (South East) got nominated as Non-Executive Commissioners.
