2027: Former LP spokesman, Ken Okonkwo, slams Northwest APC leaders over endorsement of Tinubu
Former spokesman of the Labour Party in the 2023 Presidential Election, Kenneth Okonkwo, on Monday slammed North West leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential race.
Okonwko, speaking on ARISE NEWS Morning Show on Monday, declared, inter alia, “Our leaders are known worldwide for their decision to walk in the darkness of destructive selfishness.
“People have been killed in Benue and the Northwest.
“The sycophantic leaders in the Northwest number fewer than 1,000, while the population in the region exceeds 60 million.
“Democracy is the government of the people, not the government of a few APC leaders in the Northwest who are solely interested in self-enrichment.”
North West APC leaders had at a meeting in Kaduna on Saturday passed a vote of confidence on President Tinubu, adopting him as the sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, at a meeting of the North West APC leaders in Kaduna on Saturday, declared: “The Northwest has 12 ministers, the highest of any zone in Nigeria, and as of today, we’re happy: the Speaker is from the Northwest, the DSP is from the Northwest, and the National Chairman is from the Northwest.”
According to Governor Sani, “the APC Northwest Zone passes a Vote of Confidence on President Tinubu and adopts him as the sole candidate for 2027 presidential elections for the Northwest today in Kaduna.”
Okonwko maintaining that the leaders are walking in the dark argued that there is no justification for the endorsement of Tinubu for second term in 2027 considering the woes in the country in his administration, and his inability to get the country back to track.
