Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as an attacker for Italian club AC Milan and the Sweden national team. Zlatan has an undeniable love for tattoos. As a matter of fact, he asserted in his book, “I am Zlatan,” that getting inked was like a drug for him and that getting tattooed provided him with a “boost.” In total, the Swedish man has between 9 to 14 tattoos. However, in this article, we will be looking at only three of them whose meanings would surely inspire you.

Without further ado, let’s see them below.

1. “Only God can judge me”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic made it known that this tattoo appears only when he is severely trashed by his opponents. This is Zlatan’s first of its kind. This tattoo can be located at the side of his stomach and has got a message inked that says: “Only God can judge me.” Ibrahimovic elaborated on this tattoo as he explained that people could write whatever they want in the papers or scream whatever they like from the stands, but they still wouldn’t get at him. He said only God could judge him. This was the reason he got those words tattooed on himself.

The grey koi fish tattoo can be located on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s left shoulder blade. The colour he chose is believed to hold a lot of significance as grey koi are considered to be wild, not like the orange ones who breed in ponds.

Ibrahimovic, in his book, revealed that he picked the fish because it “went against the grain.” The koi fish primarily symbolises overcoming obstacles. It could also be described in a way that it swims in the mist of strong currents as well.

On Ibrahimovic’s right shoulder blade, a feather is inked. It is said that the feather came from an eagle. And obviously, an eagle represents strength, courage, and endurance. It’s ancestry seems to be Native American. The former Sweden captain also inked the image of a Buddhist monk on his right shoulder blade called Yant Prajao Khao Nirote. Such a tattoo is believed to be a form of protection from suffering.

3. People’s names

Zlatan Ibrahimovic also had temporary tattoos of 15 people who were victims of hunger. These tattoos were inked on him in a bid to draw attention to world famine. After PSG won a match against their French rivals, he pulled off his shirt to reveal their names, with the aim of creating enlightenment for the United Nations’ World Food Program.

Ibrahimovic said that when he took off his shirt against fellow French club Caen, everyone was curious as they asked what the new tattoos were. He then explained that he had 15 removable tattoos on his body and they were the names of actual people who were suffering from hunger in the world. He later said that even though the tattoos were gone, the people were still there, and he hoped others could see them through him.
