4 Big clubs who may not win their matches this weekend
European Club football is set to resume this weekend, after two weeks of international break, where different national teams jostled to qualify for the world cup.
Within the space of the two weeks, some shufflings have taken place in the top five leagues.
In England, two managers were sacked before the international break and I’ve now been replaced . Aston Villa former coach Dean Smith and was relieved of his job and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has taken over from him, in what will seem like a baptism of fire in his managerial career. Dean Smith replaced former Norwich coach Daniel Farke.
Also in Spain, Xavi Hernandez and Daniel Alves returned to Barcelona, the former as a coach after Ronald Koeman was sacked and the latter as a player.
We will take a look at some top clubs who may struggle this weekend.
1. Liverpool
Liverpool will be up against an in form Arsenal this weekend. The Merseyside club have not won their last two league matches, as they drew 3-3 with Brighton and lost against West Ham, while Arsenal are unbeaten in their last eight league matches. Although the match will be played at anfield but judging by the recent form of Liverpool, Arsenal might have a chance to pick at least a point against the Reds.
2. Chelsea
Chelsea are currently top of the English Premier League, but their last draw against Burnley was not impressive.
Albeit Leicester are also not doing well as they have failed to win their last two league games, they have always given Chelsea a run for their money. In the last six games between the two clubs, Leicester have the upper hand, having won one including the FA Cup triumph against the London club, drawn three and lost one.
3. Barcelona
Xavi’s first game will be a tough one in a Catalonia derby against Espanyol. Barcelona surrendered a three goal lead against Celta Vigo, and the club have been below par this season.
It is yet to be seen if Xavi and Barcelona will be able to mastermind a win against their stubborn sister Club.
4. Manchester City
The Citizens have also not been convincing this season, and they have a tough game to negotiate against Everton.
Crystal Palace came to Etihad to defeat the Manchester giants, and who says Everton cannot repeat the same.
