Anambra gas explosion: APC commisserates with family of victims
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed regret over the loss of lives and property in the gas explosion that occurred on Thursday at Nnewi, in Anambra.
The National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, commisserated with bereaved families and government of Anambra in a statement issued by the party’s Assistant Director (Publicity), Mr Edegbe Odemwingie, in Abuja on Friday.
According to the statement, the chairman said the explosion, which occurred in an industrial gas plant in Nnewi, was tragic and regrettable.
“My prayers and condolences goes out to the families of the victims of the gas explosion.
“I pray the almighty God gives them the fortitude to bear the painful loss,” the statement said.
The statement also expressed solidarity with the governor of Anambra, Mr Willie Obiano, the Igwe of Nnewi and the entire Nnewi people over the incidence.
The statement also condoled with Mr Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank Governor, and Alhaji Barkindo Musdafa, the Lamido of Adamawa, who both lost their mothers.
The chairman, in the statement, prayed God to grant the families of the deceased the strength to bear the losses.
