Nigerian players sack on racism, religious grounds

FORMER Dolphins FC and Egypt Striker who also played for National Bank of Uzbekistan, Okechukwu Kenny Iwunze, was recently dropped by his team after signing him for two years .

Imo born footballer, who was recently released from his new club in Uzbekistan told National Daily that his head coach called him after two months of signing that the team can’t take black players.

Okechukwu said his plans this season is to win highest goal scorer with his new club that later dropped him after playing friendly games for the team, the head coach called him when they were supposed to give him his contract paper, he was told that they can’t register black players for the team is playing with. His plans this season are for a better career and to play for his beloved country. That will be a great joy for him that’s what every young player prays for to serve his fatherland.

Also, a Nigerian Striker 23 years old, Imo born Nigeria striker,Amyanwu Henry Ifeanyi ,who has been playing Ahli Ahli fc in Amman, In Arab continent was dropped in his team because he had problem with his agent that he passed through their country as the agent that takes him to the club to sign on fee and since he told them he was a Christian they have been giving him problem.

Ifeanyi told National Daily that they pay their people sometimes, but refuse to pay him, because he is a Christian. He revealed that he was supposed to be a priest, ‘’but football made me give up my priesthoodship’’.

Anyanwu was recently taken to court for using their visa. He has also been approached and asked to get converted to Muslim which he refused, “so they stopped me from playing and training with them because they want me to join Muslim”.

Nigerian defender said that he is planning to come back home since he is not playing for his Ahli Ahli Football club anymore. The Imo born Right full back revealed that he was in primary school as an athlete. During seminary school one of their Rev. Sisters in school told him to play in the place of one of his friend that had injury. That was how he fell in love with soccer.

He was supposed to be a Rev. Father, but football stopped him. He started playing at Abia state in an academic called Unic Standard football college Aba.

In 2000 then by 2003, he went for a competition call ‘NASO’because of his good performance one academic called his to join their team in Sapele.
Henry said he travelled out in 2014, but his parents were not happy because they wanted him to be a priest.
