Buhari’s son-in-law declared wanted, on the run
Gimba Yau Komo, a son-in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari, is a wanted man.
The ICPC, in a notice on its website, declared him wanted for alleged $65 million fraud.
Kumo was a former managing director of Federal Mortgage Bank, and he married Buhari’s daughter in October 2016, two years after he left the bank.
His partners in crime Tarry Rufus and Bola Ogunsola are alleged to have misappropriated the national housing fund.
“The persons whose pictures appear above, Mr Tarry Rufus, Mr Gimba Yau Kumo and Mr Bola Ogunsola, are hereby declared wanted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission in connection with issues bordering on misappropriation of National Housing Funds and diversion of the sum of $65m,” the noticed signed by Azuka Ogugua, ICPC spokesperson, stated
“Anyone who has useful information on their whereabouts should report to ICPC Headquarters, Abuja, any of the ICPC State Offices or the nearest police station.”
Besides his sleaze-filled tenure at FMBN was, Kumo and others paid themselves generously when they left the bank in 2014.
In April, the senate committee on public accounts summoned Kumo to explain the alleged irregular award of N3 billion contract when he was still at the bank.
