Obi Cubana lands in EFCC custody; 2 allegations likely levelled against him

Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, is now guesting in at EFCC following an invitation.

The socialite might spend the night there—facing interrogation.

The businessman arrived at the headquarters of the commission at Jabi in Abuja at about noon on Monday, according to sources.

The source said detectives are currently interrogating Obi Cubana.

Allegations which the EFCC presses against him are yet to be declared to Nigerians, but the abuse of the naira during his mother’s talk-of-the nation burial weeks ago appears the most public knowledge of any financial malpractice that can be traced to him.

Sources, according to the Daily Trust, however, said money laundering and tax fraud are on the table.

Spokesman of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, said he was yet to be briefed on the development.
