Gov. Masari incites youths to form militant vigilante groups as means of employment
Governor Aminu Masari, at the groundbreaking inauguration of the N5.8 billion interchange road at Kofar Kaura and Kwaya, incited Nigerian youths to begin to see career opportunities in the insecurity crisis ravaging the country, and begin create job opportunities for themselves by forming militant vigilante groups to confront bandits, kidnappers in their localities. The governor maintained that this is not the time for any youth in the country to be complaining of unemployment in the face of subsisting opportunities in the urgent need of security operatives by the various governments across the country.
Governor Masari assured that he will collaborate with any youth group to share ideas on solutions to the intractable security crisis in Katsina State and the entire country.
The Katsina StateGovernor encouraged youths to set up ‘neighbourhood watch’ trams in their respective communities, to confront the bandits and other criminal elements attacking and destroying lives and property in their neighbourhood. He enjoined the youths to eschew from complaining that there are no jobs in their states but take advantage of the insecurity challenges to earn legitimate living.
Masari maintained that the youths can become productive at a time like this by complementing the security operatives in the country to fight the bandits, Boko Haram terrorists, kidnappers, and other criminals in Negra. He reiterated that security is everyone’s business, reassuring that his administration is ready to work with the youths and take them off the streets to earn a living.
The governor urged residents of the state to be vigilant, security conscious and join the “Operation Know Your Neighbours” in Katsina State.
Katsina State, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari, had at different times been invaded by bandits, who kill, steal and destroy properties.
