NSCDC arrest 4 gun runners, bandits’ informants in Sokoto
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has revealed the arrest of four gun runners and informants of bandits in Sokoto State. The state Command highlighted that the suspects indulged in kidnapping, gun running as well as being informants for bandits in Niger State.
The NSCDC Commandant in Sokoto State, Mohammed Saleh-Dada, during the parading of four persons working with a notorious bandits kingpin, Dogo Gide, appealed for public support in volunteering information to security operatives in the fight against rising crime in the state. The arrested suspects were said to be devastating the security and peace of residents of some communities in Sokoto and Niger states.
Commandant Mohammed Saleh-Dada revealed that one of the arrested suspects is from Niger State, adding that he has been on the watchlist of different security agencies in Nigeria for his involvement in kidnapping, banditry, gun running, cattle rustling and other cross border crimes.
The NSCDC Commandant disclosed that Sokoto NSCDC Command collaborated with the command in Niger State working on available intelligence for the arrest of the four suspects at Lapai, Niger State.
Commandant Saleh-Dada assured of sustained security operations against the bandits and other crime perpetrators.
