NFF acts late, fires Technical Crew of Super Eagles
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in a belated action after the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, at last fires the technical crew of the Super Eagles after the Tuesday disgrace in Abuja by Ghana in a world cup march. This is an action the Federation was expected to have taken after the shameful exit from the Nations Cup in January, but waited till the demeaning and humiliating elimination from the world cup by Ghana.
The NFF in a statement on Thursday, after the disgrace on Tuesday in a 1-1 home match that eliminated Nigeria from the world cup to the advantage of Ghana, declared: “The NFF has in the meantime withdrawn the two-and-half years’ contract offered the coaches and terminated the appointment of the entire technical crew of the team with immediate effect.
“A new crew will be announced after a proper review to lead the new charge of reinvigorating the Super Eagles to face future challenges appropriately.”
The football body, however, acknowledged that Austine Eguavoen had earlier resigned as technical director.
