Sokoto 2023: Coalition of 25 groups pays N21m for Bafarawa’s PDP nomination form
A coalition of 25 groups in Sokoto State pulled resources together to pay N21 million for the expression of interest and nomination forms for Sagir Bafarawa to contest for the governorship tickled of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. The coalition have been mobilizing support for the PDP stakeholder for the 2023 Governorship election in Sokoto State.
Bafarawa, a Commissioner for Environment in Sokoto State, had earlier indicated his intention to contest the governorship election on the platform of the PDP.
Malam Al Mustapha Sarkin-Baki, leading the coalition, explained why they resolved to support Bafarawa for the 2023 governorship election in Soloto State, citing the achievements of Commissioner, and his credential of being youths ambassador.
Bafarawa commended the groups’ confidence in him and their support. Accepting the forms, Bafarawa assured his supporters that he would reach out to elders and other stakeholders of the party in continuation of his consultations.
