Minda group pays N3.5m to purchase Benue PDP senatorial form for Ortom
A social group in Benue State, the Masev, Ihyarev and Nongov Development Association (MINDA), has voluntarily shelve off the financial burden on Governor Samuel Ortom in paying the sum of N3.5 million to purchase Expression of Intent and Nomination Forms for senatorial election in 2023.
The elders of MINDA who purchased and presented the forms to Governor Ortom explained that they did so to advance their demand on the governor to contest for the Benue North West Senatorial District election in 2023.
The presentation of the forms was done by the Secretary of the MINDA PDP Elders Forum, Charles Torbunde, who was accompanied by members of the forum from Guma, Makurdi, Gwer-East and Gwer-West to the Government House, Makurdi.
Governor Samuel Ortom, accepting the forms, said he was humbled, promising to represent the people well and speak for them without fear or favour. He assured that he will represent the interest of his constituent. The governor expressed delight that the MINDA elders accompanied him to seek the support of Jemgbagh in his aspiration for the Senate in 2023.
