Bandits kidnap district head in fresh attack in Plateau
Bandits on Monday kidnapped the District Head of Panyam, Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria, HRH Adamu Derwam. The bandits invaded the palace of the monarch in Panyam in the early hours of Monday.
A relation of the District Head, Friday Derwam, narrated that the bandits invaded the palace at about 1.35am, shooting sporadically, thereafter, fled with the traditional ruler to an unknown destination.
The Public Relations Officer of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alfredo Alabo, acknowledging the invasion and abduction, said that a combined tactical team of Police, Army, vigilante and hunters has been deployed to the environment for search and rescue operation to save the kidnapped traditional ruler.
