Wike vs Atiku: Gov’s lawyer suddenly catches cold in courtroom
Wilfred Okoi, counsel to Rivers Gov. Nyesom Wike in the suit he brought against the PDP and its presidential flagbearer Atiku Abubakara, was indisposed to continue with proceeding in court on Wednesday.
The blah feeling came without warning.
Okoi was in court early in the day, but suddenly came under the grip of some illness that eventually forced him to leave.
Chief complainant Newgent Ekamon had to inform Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed of the development, and prayed the judge for adjournment.
Defence lawyer and PDP’s National Legal Adviser Adeyemi Kamaldeen Ajibade did not object to the request.
He agreed anybody could fall sick anytime.
The National Daily reported Wike and his man sued the party and Atiku, joining co-presidential wannabe Gov Aminu Tambuwal who stepped down for Atiku to carry the PDP primary.
Wike, also an aspirant, come second, and he would not take his loss and bear it.
In the suit, he wants the court to determine, among others, if Tambuwal should cop out, and donate his vote to Atiku.
The case has now be adjourned till October 7
