A recent claim of Paris Saint-Germain sensation Kylian Mbappe wanting to leave the club has emerged.
National Daily meanwhile, had previously reported of the player being attracted to Real Madrid with many even thought to have expected the Frenchman to head to the Spanish capital during the last summer transfer window before the 23-year-old made a last-minute U-turn to extend his contract with PSG that is believed to have made him the highest-paid player in the world leaving the Los Blancos disappointed.
The widespread report in France last week claimed that the France international was fed up with life at PSG and wanted to secure a move to either Real Madrid or Liverpool.
National Daily gathered that Mbappe is believed to feel ‘betrayed’ over a number of broken promises from the club’s hierarchy over both the summer signings that were made and his role in the team, though the former Monaco forward has since denied the reports.
And Real president Florentino Perez at the time is believed to have sent an angry message to the striker while denying the existence of the young forward when asked about him after the Champions League final.
It was however learned by National Daily that both Perez and Mbappe were in the French capital for the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday night and the Real Madrid chief was inevitably asked about the fresh rumours surrounding the Frenchman, but the 75-year-old was quick to once again distanced himself from making a move.
As quoted by RMC Sport, Perez said: ‘It’s not that I’m bored of stories about Mbappe, it’s that I don’t even read them anymore.
‘We have an extraordinary future ahead of us. Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo are real stars. I see them as future Ballon d’Or winners.’
According to Marca, Perez and Real’s delegation at the Ballon d’Or ceremony did not interact with Mbappe or his entourage at all on Monday night.
The charm offensive Real had put so much effort into over the past few years was replaced by ‘coldness and distance’ and Perez is said to have firmly put the idea of signing Mbappe to bed, not wanting to have his fingers burned again.
Reacting to the sudden speculation surrounding his future, Mbappe said this weekend: ‘I’m very happy. I never asked for my departure in January.
‘I was just as shocked as everyone else. There are people who may think I’m involved in this, but I’m not involved, I was taking a nap.’
