Peter Obi suspends presidential campaign, visits flood victims in Benue, donates N5m
The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has suspended his presidential campaign to visit victims of flooding in Benue State to express his solidarity.
@PeterObi visited the IDP camp at Wadata rice mill area, Makurdi, in Daudu village in Guma Local Government Area, Benue State on Thursday, where he donated N5 million to the displace flood victims.
Obi in Makurdi, urged the federal government to be proactive in mitigating the effects of the floods caused by the failure to prepare for the release of excess water from the Cameroon’s and the heavily silted River Benue across the country.
Obi in a tweet on his official twitter handle, wrote: Peter Obi @PeterObi “I am in Benue State visiting and commiserating with the flood disaster victims. My solidarity and prayers are with them.” -PO
