Wike visits Tinubu at State House second time in 72 hours, goes with Akpabio, Umahi
Former Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Monday visited President Bola Tinubu for a second time in 72 hours at the State House, Abuja. Wike had visited the President at the State House last week with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and former Governor James Ibori of Delta State
The former Rivers Governor on the Monday visit, went with former Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and Senator Godswill Akpabio, the nominee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership for the President of the Senate in the 10th National Assembly.
Former Governor Wike was said to have in a media interaction with State House Correspondents, said that “the visit is strictly to show support as a Nigerian.” Again, he dismissed any plan to defect to the APC.
There were indications that Wike has sustained his visit to the President to tentatively contribute to the lobby for the emergence of Akpabio, from the South-South, as the Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.
