Ondo House of Assembly Speaker dumps PDP
The newly-elected speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
He made the announcement of his defection at a press conference on Monday in Akure. He revealed that he would be making the move official, along with some other members, on Tuesday.
“We are here today to signify our intention to join the ruling party, APC. The other ceremony will be done tomorrow (Tuesday),” he said.

“At the national level, they have factionalised our party. The same scenario is also at the state level. This declaration is for our followers and those we represent.
“We are ready to work with the executive without any problem, and all necessary things to be done are in place. Be rest assured that Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu is ready to work and we are ready to support him.”
His deputy, Ogundeji Iroju of Odigbo constituency II said it was imperative for them to make the move as the APC was the only party capable of delivering good governance in the state.
