CSP Maliki Bawa Bids Farewell to the Nigerian Police Force
- Urges colleagues to uphold honesty, emphasizing the value of serving humanity

Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Maliki Bawa Rilwanu, the former Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Amukoko in the Lagos State Police Command, has officially retired after 35 years of dedicated service to the nation. During a colorful retirement ceremony held at the Governor Event Centre in Amukoko, Ifelodun Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, Bawa advised serving police officers to remain upright, honest, and God-fearing in the discharge of their duties.
In his brief address, the retired officer expressed gratitude to God for a career spanning over three decades, stating, *“It pays more to serve humanity. I thank God for seeing me through 35 years of meritorious service to the nation.”
Prior to his retirement, Bawa served as the Commander of the Special Enquiry Bureau at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja, a position he held for less than three months.
The retirement celebration was graced by notable dignitaries, including Honourable Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA. In his remarks, Okeowo praised the retired officer’s exemplary service and commitment, saying, “CSP Maliki Bawa is a disciplined and achieving police officer. If he were a politician, he would be celebrated as an achiever. His human-centered approach to policing endeared him to the community. I encourage him to consider establishing a security company, as he possesses unmatched expertise in the field.”
Also in attendance was the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olarenwaju Ishola, represented by CSP Taoreed Lawal, CSP Administration, Lagos State Police Command. Other prominent guests included former Ifelodun LCDA Chairman Honourable Ajifat Ajdagba, chieftains of the council, and numerous well-wishers from across Lagos, all gathered to celebrate a distinguished and humble officer.
CSP Maliki Bawa’s legacy of honesty, discipline, and dedication to service will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration to his colleagues and the wider community.
