Vieira: Arsenal’s narrow win over Burnley puts pressure on Man City in title race
Former France international Patrick Vieira has said Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Burnley on Monday night could deal a psychological blow to Manchester City as the Premier League title race reaches a decisive stage.
The Gunners secured the crucial win thanks to a first-half header from Kai Havertz, who rose highest to convert a pinpoint corner from Bukayo Saka. The goal proved enough to seal all three points and maintain Arsenal’s momentum at the top of the table.
With the result, Arsenal have moved five points clear of defending champions Manchester City, piling pressure on Pep Guardiola’s side ahead of their midweek fixture.
City are scheduled to travel to the Vitality Stadium to face AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday night. Should they fail to secure victory, Arsenal would be crowned champions.

Reacting to the development while speaking on Sky Sports, Vieira suggested the timing of Arsenal’s win could impact City’s mindset heading into their match.
“That result can hurt Man City,” Vieira said.
“They will go into the game tomorrow a little disappointed after the Arsenal result tonight.”
As the title race enters its final stretch, all eyes will now be on Manchester City’s response, with Arsenal having applied significant pressure through their hard-fought win over Burnley.
