As Rivers State navigates a period of political and governance uncertainty, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has struck a tone of reassurance and confidence, declaring that the state will overcome its current challenges through strong institutions, resilient leadership and the collective will of its people.

Speaking through his deputy, Dr Ngozi Odu, at the 2026 Holy Ghost Rally organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), the governor said his administration remains anchored on faith in God as a sustaining force in difficult times.

The event, held on Sunday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, drew thousands of worshippers from across Rivers State and beyond.

Addressing the congregation, Fubara noted that the rally’s theme, “The All-Sufficient God,” was particularly timely, given the prevailing realities in the state. He said the message offered reassurance that, even in moments of uncertainty and pressure, divine support remains constant.

“With the Almighty God on our side, our challenges are surmountable, and our future remains hopeful,” the governor said, drawing loud affirmation from the worshippers.

According to him, the theme of the rally underscores a core belief of his administration—that when human capacity reaches its limits, divine sufficiency becomes most evident.

He explained that faith provides guidance, strength, provision and grace, especially when governance demands become complex and emotionally taxing.

Fubara stressed that beyond political structures and policies, the moral and spiritual foundation of a society plays a critical role in shaping its stability and progress.

He said the confidence of his government is rooted not only in constitutional authority but also in the enduring support of God and the resilience of the people of Rivers State.

The governor also used the occasion to commend the Redeemed Christian Church of God for what he described as its consistent prayers and spiritual support for Rivers State and Nigeria.

He praised the church’s role in promoting moral discipline, unity and faith, noting that such values are essential for peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.

According to him, religious institutions remain vital partners in nation-building, particularly in fostering social cohesion and encouraging citizens to embrace peace, tolerance and responsibility.

The Holy Ghost Rally featured extended sessions of worship and prayers focused on peace, stability and prosperity in Rivers State and across the country. Clergy and congregants alike offered prayers for leaders at all levels, calling for wisdom, unity and divine direction in governance.

As the event drew to a close, the atmosphere was one of cautious optimism, with worshippers expressing hope that Rivers State would emerge stronger from its current challenges—guided by faith, strengthened institutions and a renewed sense of collective purpose.
