Anthony Joshua signs commercial partnership with CAA Sports
Two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua has signed an exclusive commercial representation agreement with CAA Sports, marking a significant step in the boxer’s efforts to expand his global business and endorsement portfolio.
The deal will see CAA Sports work alongside Joshua’s long-standing management company, 258 Group, to develop new commercial opportunities, sponsorship agreements, media ventures, and international brand partnerships.
As part of the arrangement, Freddie Cunningham, Managing Director of 258 Group and one of Joshua’s closest business advisers, will join CAA Sports as Head of Client Strategy. Based in London, Cunningham will continue to oversee Joshua’s commercial interests while helping to shape strategic initiatives for other athletes represented by the agency.
The partnership is expected to strengthen Joshua’s position in the global sports and entertainment market without altering the structure of his existing boxing operations.
Industry observers describe the agreement as a strategic move that allows Joshua to retain his established management team while gaining access to CAA Sports’ extensive international network of corporate partners and commercial opportunities.
Through the deal, Joshua joins a roster of high-profile athletes and sports personalities represented by CAA Sports, including football manager José Mourinho, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo, England internationals Cole Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo, Formula One driver Liam Lawson, and former Manchester United defender Gary Neville.
Despite the new partnership, Joshua’s boxing affairs will remain under the management of 258 Group and promoter Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing. Henry Baldwin will continue overseeing Joshua’s boxing career and family office operations, while Soapbox London remains responsible for his public relations activities.
Since turning professional in 2013, Joshua has become one of Britain’s most marketable athletes, securing endorsement deals with several global brands and building a diverse investment portfolio across sports and business ventures.
The announcement comes as the former unified heavyweight champion prepares for his next bout, scheduled for July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he is expected to face unbeaten Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga.
The latest commercial move underscores Joshua’s continued efforts to grow his influence beyond the boxing ring and strengthen his standing as one of the world’s leading sports brands.
