Police arrest human parts buyer in Lagos
Nemesis have caught up with some influential individuals and herbalists who specialize in using fresh human body parts to make money. Crack detectives of the Lagos State Police Command arrested some of them at the weekend.
The arrest of buyers numbering five followed that of two suspected men who lure ladies to a killer den at the Ile-Ewe Ajala Bus-Stop area of Abule-Egba where they slaughter human as lamb and sell their parts to their customers collecting huge sums of money.
The bubble blew up last week when officials of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) who were on their routine duty discovered that a woman and her young female child were shouting for help under a drainage. The officials alerted the Police and residents of the area on check they discovered a big den specially prepared to butcher human being.
They saw many human parts that have been harvested, women wigs, clothes among other items. During the raid two men were caught in the den.
It was tough for operatives of the State Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) to take the suspects away from the scene as angry mob besieged the scene trying to set the two suspects ablaze. It took effort of another back up who came with tear gas to disperse the surging crowd before the SARS operatives could take the two suspects to the command headquarters.
Now during interrogation at the weekend the suspects have confessed and mentioned their clients who pay to kill which now led to the arrest of their syndicate in crime.
National Daily learnt that the team of operatives investigation the crime are still moving to arrest more other suspects who have been linked with the human killing deal in Lagos.
It was gathered by National Daily, that another killing spot has been discovered at Ile-Zik area of Ikeja just very close to Ikeja along bus stop and Police have also picked up three suspects.
As investigation continues over the killings across Lagos State Metropolis, the State Commissioner of Police (CP) Fatai Owoseni have warned residents of the state to be security conscious, and watch the vehicles they enter especially early hours.
The CP, in an encounter with National Daily, said the Police will ensure that all the culprit are brought to book and the full wrath of the law will take its course. He also enjoined residents of the state to help the Police with tangible information that could help the Police to fight criminals in the state.
It could be recalled that in 2001 a notorious human killer Clifford Orji was arrested in Toyota Bus Stop along the Airport Road following the discovery of large human parts found in his hideout under the bridge. Orji during his confession claimed to be killing humans and sell their parts to high profile business men and top politicians across Nigeria.
National Daily learnt that Orji later died of gunshot injury he sustained during his arrest after suffering long ailment at his detention cell in Ikoyi prison, Lagos.
In 2010 another killer den was discovered in Ibadan. Nobody was arrested but Police and the State government mopped up the place.
