Kanu drops threats, endorses November 18 elections in Anambra
The embattled leader of the pro-Biafra group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has soften his threats on the November 18 elections in Anambra State.
National Daily gathered that Kanu gave the indication following meeting with the Igbo leaders and members of the Ala-Igbo International Foundation, the embattled leader of the pro-Biafra group has reportedly dropped his threats and endorsed the elections in the state.
Speaking after the meeting which held in Owerri, the leader of the foundation, Professor Uzodinma Nwala, disclosed that they were able to reach an agreement with the IPOB leader after much deliberation which is still ongoing.
According to the foundation’s leader, the IPOB has assured the Igbo leaders that it won’t take any actions to disrupt the forthcoming election scheduled for November 18 in the state.

The group during the meeting summoned Igbos from all works of life including the Igbo academics, elders, clerics, patriotic public figures, women and youth, both at home and abroad.
Recall that Nnamdi Kanu had earlier threatened that elections will not hold in the state until the federal government grants the group’s request on a referendum for Biafra independence. Kanu also said the group will boycott the 2019 election if the demand for Biafra is not granted.
“If the federal government does not agree with us on a date for referendum, there will be no elections in the southeast, we are starting with Anambra come November this year. There will be no governorship election in Anambra state,” Kanu had threatened.
