Dikko promises to give best as Match Commissioner for Champions League final
The second vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation and chairman of the Nigeria Professional Football League, Shehu Dikko, has declared that he would give his best in the second leg grand final of the 2018 CAF Champions League between Esperance of Tunisia African Football, CAF and Egypt’s Al Ahly,National Daily learnt.
Shehu Dikko, was appointed as the Match Commissioner for the match.
The final cracker will be played in Tunis.
Already, the NFF second vice president is in Tunis for the final of the biggest continental club championship.
In a related development, another Nigeria was also appointed as one of the officials for the champions League final, he is Dr. Chris Omerua, a member of the NFF Integrity Committee.
Omerua has been appointed by CAF as the Security Coordinator for the grand final which would see the best of African football.
Shehu Dikko, who spoke from Tunis, expressed his delight for the CAF appointment of himself and Omerua, who have been saddled with the responsibility of taking charge of the two very important aspects of such a glamorous final match between the best two teams in the continent.
He said: “It is indeed a great honours for us to be involved in this extremely important and headline match for CAF and all thanks to our president, Amaju Pinnick. We promise to give our best in the discharge of our duties.”
Al Ahly defeated Esperance 3-1 in the first leg final played on Friday November 2, at the Borg El Arab Stadium. Al Ahly needs just a draw or a 1-0 defeat to clinch the title.
