U.S. recognises Imam who saved 300 Christians in Plateau
Imam Abdullahi Abubakar, has been praised by the United States Mission in Nigeria for saving hundreds of Christians during an attack in Plateau state on June 23, 2018.
Abubakar, the Chief Imam of Nghar village in Gashish District in Plateau state, has been widely lauded by people in and out of the country.
The US Embassy in Nigeria praised Abubakar when it awarded Abubakar the Nigerian Star, “in recognition of achievement and service to Nigeria and Nigerians”.
“84 year-old Imam Abdullahi Abubakar, a peace-builder who together with his deputy saved over 300 lives of his Christian neighbors on June 23, 2018, by putting faith into action at Nghar Vilage, Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau,” the mission writes on Twitter.
