Adebutu leads PDP protest of gov election in Ogun
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, expressing disapproval, led multitude of PDP supporters on a peaceful protest of the governorship election in Ogun State at the State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abeokuta. The INEC had declared Governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the Saturday governorship election.
Adebutu had expressed that the protest was imperative to express their dissatisfaction with the irregularities and compromise of election.
The PDP supporters displayed placards, demanding cancellation of the result announced by the INEC.
The State APC Publicity Secretary in Ogun, Tunde Oladunjoye, dismissed the allegations of rigging and manipulation as false and fake news. He insisted that the governorship election was free and fair in the state, alleging that PDP supporters plotted the rigging of the election but failed.
Oladunjoye demanded the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to arrest the PDP members came to the polling units with permanent voter cards (PVCs) to preload the BVAS.
