Alaafin visits Freed Oriire abductees as Senator Alli donates car to rescued school principal
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, has paid a solidarity visit to the recently released victims of the Oriire Local Government abduction, while the Principal of Community High School, Esiele, Mrs. Rachael Alamu, received a Toyota Camry car as a gift from Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State.
The monarch visited the rescued victims to sympathise with them over their ordeal and to celebrate their safe return after spending days in captivity. During the visit, Oba Owoade offered prayers for the victims and their families, urging residents to remain united and vigilant in the face of growing security challenges.
He commended security agencies and all those who played roles in securing the release of the abductees, stressing the need for sustained collaboration among traditional institutions, government and security operatives to curb kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state.

The victims, who included students, teachers and other residents, expressed gratitude to God, the government, security agencies and members of the public who supported their families throughout the period of their captivity.
In a related development, Senator Sharafadeen Alli presented a Toyota Camry car to Mrs. Rachael Alamu, the Principal of Community High School, Esiele, in recognition of her resilience and commitment following the traumatic abduction incident.
The senator said the gesture was aimed at encouraging the school administrator and appreciating her courage despite the difficult experience she endured alongside other victims.
According to him, the donation reflects the need for leaders and well-meaning individuals to provide practical support to victims of insecurity, particularly educators who continue to serve their communities under challenging conditions.
Mrs. Alamu, while receiving the vehicle, expressed profound appreciation to Senator Alli for the unexpected gift, describing it as a demonstration of compassion and solidarity.
She thanked God for preserving her life and those of the other abductees, pledging to remain committed to her responsibilities in the education sector.
The events have drawn widespread commendation from residents and community leaders, who described the Alaafin’s visit and Senator Alli’s donation as timely interventions that would provide emotional and practical support to the victims as they rebuild their lives after the traumatic experience.
