LAGOS, NIGERIA
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully conducted its local government primary elections across Lagos State, with candidates emerging for the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). The primaries, held on Saturday at the APC secretariat on Acme Road, Ikeja, were marked by consensus agreements, unopposed victories, and commendations for peaceful conduct.

Moyosore Ogunlewe (Kosofe LGA) clinched a second-term ticket unopposed.
Usman Hamzat (Ifako-Ijaiye) also emerged victorious.
Dozens of candidates emerged from all 57 local councils, positioning the APC strongly for the July 12 elections.
Peace and Unity in Oshodi-Isolo
At Oshodi-Isolo LGA, delegates from the seven wards gathered under a peaceful atmosphere to elect councilorship candidates by consensus, a remarkable feat in Nigeria’s often competitive political environment.

The electoral committee chairman, Otunba Bestman Nze-Jumbo, praised the smooth coordination of the exercise and thanked the Executive Chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, for his leadership and commitment to fairness.

He also acknowledged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who serves as the party leader in Lagos, for providing strategic support and oversight during the primaries.
