APC stakeholder in Katsina rejects Tinubu’s campaign appointment, defects to PDP
A notable stakeholder in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, Mamuda Lawal Musawa, has relinquished his appointment into the Jagaban/Shettima Northwest Ambassadors, including the Dikko/Jobe 2023 Campaign Council, and defected from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Lawal Musawa, a property development entrepreneur and CEO of Zamani Estates and Properties Development Limited, decamped from the APC after three APC members in the House of Representatives defected to the PDP. They were said to have held a meeting with the presidential candidate of the PDP, former Vice president Atiku Abubakar, before decamping from the APC.
Lawal Musawa, an aspirant for the House of Representatives in two occasions, in his resignation letter to the APC Musawa Ward Chairman, effected his decision from January 31, 2023. He cited imposition of candidate and the refusal to conduct primary election on May 27, 2022, in Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency as his primary reason for dumping the APC.
Lawal Musawa is a well known politician in Katsina State and has serve in several appointive positions, including being a member of the National Advisory Council for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, as well as Masari re-election campaign council.
