Army secure release of Major kidnapped at NDA
The Nigerian Army has rescued the officer, Major C.L Datong, kidnapped by bandits on August 24 during the invasion of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, Kaduna State, northwest Nigeria.
The Nigerian Army rescued Major Datong kidnapped by bandits who struck at NDA Permanent Site in Afaka, Kaduna State, killing two other officers, and injuring some other in the operation.
The Commandant of the NDA, Major-General Ibrahim Yusuf, had a closed-door session with the House of Representatives Committee on Defence on Tuesday, assured that the military will soon rescue the kidnapped army major in the custody of the bandits.
The Commandant General of the NDA, Major General Ibrahim Yusuf, had also stated that the Command has put adequate measures in place to prevent reoccurrence of security breach at the Defence Academy.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, Babajimi Benson, invited the Commandant for briefing on the invasion of the NDA by bandits with minimum resistance from the military.
