Artiste snatches car to feature Davido or Runtown in album
A student of the Federal College of Education, Technical, Akoka, Lagos State, Dare Williams, has confessed to drugging a cab driver and snatching his car in order to raise money to boost his musical career.
Williams, 23, stated this after his arrest by the men of the Lagos police command, adding he committed the crime because he was desperate to feature either Davido or Runtown in his musical album.
William and his friend Bethel Chukwuocha, 18, had hired the Toyota Corolla owner Clement Aniegbe to take them from Lekki to Gbagada Monday night.
According to Lagos CP Hakeem Odumosu, the suspects, on their way, their way threatened the driver with a knife so they were able to take away his phone and the car.
William said he planned to sell the car for N1 million and use the money to finance his music.
“They used a knife and some substances suspected to be sedatives to weaken the victim,” Odumosu while parading them Wednesday.
“The suspects were arrested by police detectives attached to Sabo Police Station, Lagos State, on Tuesday, December 22, at Sabo while on their routine patrol. The detectives recovered the car and the knife used for the operation from them.
“The case is under investigation and will be transferred to the State CID for further investigation.”
