Bangladesh brushes aside Washington’s request to host Afghans

Bangladesh has brushed aside, a request of the U.S. Government to provide temporary relocation shelter to some Afghan people.
The Afgan people, worked for the U.S.-led entities in trouble-ridden Afghanistan, Bangladeshi Foreign Minister, AK Abdul Momen said.
“We are already in trouble, hosting 1.1 million refugees from Myanmar,’’ he said.
Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had in a statement late Monday, urged all stakeholders in Afghanistan to maintain peace, calm and ensure safety and security of all, including foreign nationals.
Bangladesh was carefully observing the fast evolving situation in Afghanistan, which, Dhaka believed, might have an impact on the region and beyond, the ministry added.
Bangladesh would be happy to continue to work with the people of Afghanistan and the international community for Afghanistan’s socio-economic development, ” the statement said.
