Buhari’s 2016 Budget, a huge disappointment – Ogundamisi
Rabid supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari and social crusader, Kayode Ogundamisi has expressed reservations with aspects of the 2016 budget, pointing out that it was a sign that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government was insensitive to the wishes and aspirations of majority of Nigerians.
Ogundamisi’s comments posted on several multimedia platforms was in reaction to recent disclosure that President Buhari budgeted N1.7billion for feeding and buying of cooking utensils far above the about N500million proposed by Former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 budget.
Scores of other Nigerians have also condemned the 2016 budget estimates for the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, including the plan to spend N2.6billion for the purchase of BMW cars, over N300milloon for upkeep of animals among other bizarre subheadings and estimates.
The social crusader, on his part said the 2016 budget shows that nothing has changed between Jonathan and Buhari administrations, stating that the ruling APC was a huge disappointment.
His comment is reproduced in full:
“The overhead cost of running the office of President @MBuhari and his Vice @ProfOsinbajo is embarrassingly VERY HIGH. The breakdown CANNOT be SUGAR COATED in anyway.
“What is the point in asking your Ministers and other agencies of government to cut costs and your travels, feeding and IGBALADUN allowance isn’t any better than that of Goodluck Jonathan and Namadi Tambo?
“Moreso a part of the over N6 Trillion budged is coming from local and external borrowings. APC FALL HAND BIG TIME and they need to be told so.
