Chinese Consul General lauds Zone 2 in crime reduction

The Deputy Consul General of Peoples’ Republic of China in Lagos, Mr Li Youg on Monday said Lagos and Ogun states were economically and politically important to his country considering their strategic location.
He explained that among the population of China national domiciled in Nigeria, about sixty percentage of them under his watch reside in Lagos and Ogun States respectively
Li Youg, who paid a courtesy visit on the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Bala Hassan, appreciated the efforts of the police on combating crime which has in no small measure culminated into drastic reduction in crime in the command.
The Deputy Consul General was accompanied by some of his staff, who oversees the activities of about twenty states in Nigeria including Lagos and Ogun.
He, however, requested for “adequate security protection of his kinsmen while carrying out their lawful business activities and at their various residence.”
AIG Hassan, in his response assured the Deputy Consul General that his command would continue to improve on its operational activities to further reduce crime rate in the country so that more foreign investors could be encouraged to invest in Nigeria.
While thanking his guest for the visit, the AIG used the opportunity to assure members of the public that police were on the trail of the bandits involved in the bank robbery incident at FESTAC Town, Lagos last week
