Commuters, motorists bemoan worsening Oyo roads
Commuters and motorists have decried deplorable conditions of internal roads in Oyo as majority of them have become death traps.
Some areas have been caught off while commuters now spend productive hours navigating from one end of the town to another in the process of looking for alternative routes National Daily Newspaper gathered.
Residents of Ibadan are worst it as over 80% of the internal roads are no longer passable.
Some of the affected roads include; Bere-Molete stretch road and Uncle Joe of Mokola-Sango-Ui road.
The deplorable condition of internal roads is not limited to Ibadan metropolis, as residents in other local government areas shared their painful experiences.
Internal roads in Ibarapa, Oke-ogun, and Ogbomosho are nothing to write home about in spite the promise of Governor Seyi Makinde’ administration to focus attention on rehabilitation of internal roads.
Most of the motorists interviewed expressed their concern about the deplorable condition of the roads and its effect on their vehicles.

A Teacher who simply identified herself as Bukola said she spent close to four hours between Iwo road and Olodo junction because of the deplorable condition of the road.
According to her, the governor promised that all the internal roads would be fixed but we are yet to feel the impact, it has affected the transport fare from one end of Ibadan to another.
Also, a tricycle operator popularly called as Keke NAPEP alleged the Governor of insensitivity to the plight of the masses.
It has been a tale of woes, from fuel subsidy removal to deplorable condition of roads, the situation is pathetic.
Rainy season should not be an excuse for the government to help them.
The Governor should do the needful,” the tricycle Associations lamented to National Daily Newspaper correspondent.
