Coronavirus: Confirmed cases in Nigeria rise to 35, says NCDC
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria on Monday reached 35, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed.
This came as the NCDC confirmed five new cases of Coronavirus in Abuja, Lagos and Edo States.
The NCDC which disclosed this on its Twitter handle, said the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has increased to 35 with the fresh discoveries.
According to the Centre, two cases were confirmed in Abuja, two in Lagos and one in Edo. Two of the cases are returnees from the United Kingdom.
The statement read: “Five new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: two in FCT, two in Lagos and one in Edo. Two cases are returning travellers from the UK.
“As at 09:45 a.m. on 23rd March, there are 35 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. Two have been discharged.”
“A breakdown of cases by states at the moment shows that Lagos (24), FCT (6), Ogun (2), while Ekiti, Oyo and Edo States have one case each.”
