Cristiano Ronaldo plans to go into acting after retirement from football
By Boluwatife Ezekiel Olaleye
Cristiano Ronaldo may swap the bright lights of the Bernabeu for the bright lights of Tinseltown.
Many footballers turn their hand to punditry or coaching, staying within the realms of football, but then again…Ronaldo isn’t any ordinary footballer.
The Portuguese ace has already made a foray in modelling and dabbled in acting thanks to his many endorsements and campaigns.
But he is eyeing up making a name for himself in Hollywood when he retires, in an interview with Sky Italia he said: “I know that when I retire I will have a good life. I do not say that because I have a lot of money, I say it because I will try new things.
“For example, I want to try making movies.”
The 32-year-old has had an illustrious career spanning 14 years and boasts five Ballon d’Or awards.
He is often regarded as the best footballer in the world.
While he is still finding the back of the net for top clubs he is not ready to hang up his boots, but this hasn’t stopped him planning for his retirement.
Critics often note Ronaldo’s acting skills when he dives, perhaps these could be put to good use in films.
He said: “Now I’m focused on the field, I know the time will come when I’ll have to leave it, but until then I want to enjoy the moment.
