Dangote petroleum refinery denies payments from IPMAN for petroleum products
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reiterated that it has not received any payments from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) for refined petroleum products. The company stated that ongoing discussions do not imply any direct business dealings, and emphasized that payments have been made to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), which has not authorized the release of products to IPMAN.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has firmly stated that it has not received any payments from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) for the purchase of refined petroleum products.
The company made this announcement in a statement issued by Anthony Chiejina, its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, late Thursday.
The statement emphasized that while discussions with IPMAN are ongoing, the assertion that IPMAN members are facing challenges in loading refined products from the refinery is misleading.
“We currently have no direct business dealings with them, and therefore cannot be held responsible for any payments made to other entities,” the statement read.

Furthermore, the refinery clarified that any payments referenced were made through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), not directly to them.
It also noted that NNPCL has neither approved nor authorized the release of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to IPMAN.
Dangote Refinery reassured that it has the capacity to meet Nigeria’s demand for petroleum products, stating it can load up to 2,900 trucks per day.
