Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju and Senator Shehu Sani have taken to their Twitter handles to react after Tinubu, through his Presidential Campaign Organisation tried to clarify the comment he made in Ogun State about how he helped Muhammadu Buhari to become the President of Nigeria in 2015.

Adeyanju in his reaction described the statement from Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Organisation as trying to make Nigerians “unhear” what they already heard.

“Tinubu says all of us including Buhari should unhear whatever he said oh..

“Lambaaaa 🤣😂,” Adeyanju tweeted

Senator Shehu Sani on his own part accused Tinubu who is also referred to as Jagaban by many Nigerians, of trying to modify his statement, when what he said was plain, direct, and clear.

“What is Jagaban’s media team trying to retract, panel beat or modify when everything he said was plain, direct and clearly understood?” – Shehu Sani tweeted

Bola Tinubu had said in Ogun state on Thursday while speaking to APC delegates for the presidential primary, that it was because he led the war from the front that Buhari became President in 2015.

Tinubu also said he made Professor Yemi Osinbajo the Vice-President of Nigeria. He said he gave his slot as Vice-President to Professor Yemi Osinbajo

Ever since the statement got to the general public, it has generated reactions far from what Tinubu had anticipated when he made the statement. Some people even saw the statement as an insult to the President.

In response to the concerns many Nigerians have expressed about Tinubu’s comment in Ogun State, his Presidential Campaign Organisation then issued a statement stating that Tinubu never meant to humiliate President Buhari or other politicians. The organisation described the interpretation of Tinubu’s address as erroneous, misleading, and mischievous. It further said that whatever Tinubu said in Abeokuta was already in the public domain, but those in opposition decided to give it a different colouration
