Diploma Holder’s Death: He behaved strangely before committing suicide – Wife
The wife (Rofiat Amusa) of the late Olamilekan Odunare a National Diploma (ND) holder in Quantity Surveying at the Lagos State Polytechnic who was filmed as he committed suicide by jumping into a lagoon, said his husband behaved strangely before he went on to kill himself.
Rofiat disclosed that her husband who was twenty-five years old and not twenty-one years as it was circulated on social media went to a lagoon in Epe to commit suicide which she believed was due to frustration, depression, and poor parental care.
Lekan was born on the 1st of December 1996 while she was born on the 22nd of December 2000.
The incident occurred on December 4th at about 7: 15 am.
Before his death, he has been giving a saddening departure message telling his parents to take good care of his wife and 11-month-old daughter.
Rofiat, who is 21, added that the deceased and she have not been married legally but they are both known as husband and wife to their parents.
Lekan and her lived together and have been displaying some unusual behaviors before his demise.
She tendered the strangeness of their son to his parents but they swept it under the carpet, said the mother of the 11-month-old girl.
The body of Lekan was found two days after he plunged into the lagoon to commit suicide.
The late ND holder worked at Alaro City in Epe while the wife was learning fashion design. The husband was the one supporting the family on his monthly salary, she said.
