EFCC auctions 35 forfeited cars in Abuja, 400 in Lagos
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday auctioned 35 forfeited cars in Abuja after securing court forfeiture order.
The EFCC at its Office in the Federal Capital Territory, displayed the cars pictorially for prospective buyers to make their choices.
EFCC Deputy Director, Department of Proceeds of Crime Management, Umma Sulaiman, disclosed that there are 35 cars for auction, noting that proceeds from the auction will be deposited in a special account of the Federal Government at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The EFCC in Lagos last week, auctioned over forfeited 400 cars. The EFCC said that auctioning of forfeited assets would be done at the commission’s offices across the country.
The EFCC spokesperson explained that auctioning of forfeited assets is in line with the EFCC (Establishment) Act 2004; Public Procurement Act 2007 and the Proceeds of Crimes (Recovery and Management) Act 2022.
He said that the cars to be auctioned are available in four locations in Lagos: 40, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos; 15A Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos; 14 Cameroon Road, Ikoyi Lagos and CVU Obalende, Ikoyi, Lagos.
