Ekiti governor Oyebanji dissolves state executive council, retains key Commissioners, advisers
Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has announced the dissolution of the state’s executive council, relieving several commissioners and special advisers of their duties, while retaining key members in strategic positions.
The decision, contained in a statement issued on Sunday by Habibat Adubiaro, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), directed the affected political office holders to hand over to the permanent secretary or most senior civil servant in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).

“Governor Oyebanji thanks the affected members of the state executive council and wishes them success in their future endeavours,” the statement read.
The dissolution excludes the following: Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice; Commissioner for Health and Human Services; Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security; Commissioner for Education; Commissioner for Works; Commissioner for Trade, Investment, Industry, and Cooperatives and the Special Adviser, Special Education and Social Inclusion.
All Directors General who are members of the executive council were also unaffected by the dissolution. They include: DG, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD); DG, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Project Monitoring; DG, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP)
The statement did not give reasons for the shake-up, but sources suggest the move may be part of strategic realignment ahead of the state’s political and developmental priorities.
