“Enugu Rangers to break the jinx”
By ESTHER EGBE
ENUGU Rangers is on top of the table thanks to players like Chisom Egbuchulam, who has been giving the necessary assists and goals this season. Recently at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu, Chisom became the hero of the day, scoring in the 4th minute to hand the Flying Antelopes all three points and also give the bragging rights over their regional rivals who beat them home and away last season. Speaking with National Daily after the important match, the winger says they hope to win the league this season so they can break that jinx that has made them unable to lift any major trophy over three decades now.
Speaking about Enugu Rangers coach, Chisom says “Imama Amapakabo is a good man and I enjoy my work with him greatly. He knows how to bring the best from his players. And don’t even bother asking who the best manager in the NPFL is, because my answer is Imama”.

He went further to speak on why he is thick this season,” For me it’s all about focus. As a player with Disdevt in Afrik Football club here in Enugu, now a player in Enugu Rangers and also when I yield to duty-calls for the National team. One constant item and concern for me is always about focus.”
In conclusion he talked about leaving the NPFL, “I will only leave the NPFL when I get an offer that won’t make me a slave or when I get a call from a standard club in Europe. And that’s the basic problem with many players they go out of the NPFL and become slave in an unknown football club. If God permits that I should play in NPFL after this season I will still Love to play for Rangers because the entire club in Nigeria is almost the same in times of finance and good management”.
