The Chairman of Epe Local Government, Ms. Surah Animashahun, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to transforming the infrastructural landscape of the community.
Animashahun, in a media interaction in Epe on Monday, revealed that six major road projects had been successfully completed, setting the stage for enhanced socioeconomic growth in the area.
The chairman said that infrastructure helped in stimulating local commerce, easing transportation, and improving the quality of life for residents.
“Our administration is committed to driving infrastructural development that will unlock the full potentials of Epe and empower our people,” Animashahun said.
She said the completed street road projects were; Olalekan Killa Street, Otunba Layi Giwa Street, Akodu street, Shina Dipe Street, Adewale-Logun Street, Salabiu Lamidi street, and Prince Street in Epe community.
The council chairman assured residents that more projects were in the pipeline, adding that her team was working tirelessly to execute developmental programmes and projects designed to uplift the well-being of the entire community.
‘This is just the beginning. We have a robust agenda that covers health care, education, and youth empowerment, all aimed at ensuring sustainable development for our people,” she assured.
Animashahun added that the council had also embarked on rehabilitation of drainage systems to mitigate flooding in vulnerable areas, a move that had been widely applauded by community leaders.
“Plans are also underway to enhance street lighting across major roads to improve security and extend commercial activities into the evening hours,” she said.
The council chairman urged residents to support government’s initiatives and take ownership of the newly completed projects.
“Development is a collective responsibility.
“We urge our people to protect and maintain these facilities so that they can serve generations to come,” she urged.
Animashahun extended gratitude to delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for voting her to be the party’s flag bearer/candidate for second term in office.
“Following the just concluded APC primary elections, I am most grateful and indebted to President Bola Tinubu, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Epe political and traditional leaders for the second term opportunity given to me in public office.
“I promise not to let you down and I vow to run an all-inclusive government, open door policy, youth engagement, socioeconomic development and dividends of good governance,” she said.
