A page belonging to outlawed IPOB has been taken down by Facebook.
According to Simon Ekpa, the Nigerian-Finnish ex-leader of the group Radio Biafra in London, the social media platform took the action July 27.
“Our new Facebook page has been blocked restricted by Facebook,” Ekpa tweeted.
Facebook has been tough on groups using the platform for disinformation, hate speech, and propaganda.
Twitter took a similar step against President Muhammadu Buhari Twitter account—for disseminating hate. This has landed the platform suspension in Nigeria.
Twitter would later take down IPB leader Nnamdi Kanu’s tweets ordering his followers to attack police installations in Nigeria.
